Formed during the 2021 lockdown, Gender Envy brought together members who met online and via local music scenes. They gained early traction after playing a 500-capacity Rescue Rooms show, which helped fund studio time and led to singles including "Paper Planes" and "I'm Over You (You Wish I Was Under You)". The band has played regional festivals and maintains active Bandcamp and social profiles.
