José María Napoleón (born José María Napoleón Ruiz Narváez on August 18, 1948) is a Mexican singer-songwriter widely known as "El Poeta de la Canción." He rose to prominence in the 1970s with hits like "Vive" and wrote songs recorded by major Latin artists; he represented Mexico at the OTI Festival in 1977. Napoleón has had a multi-decade career as a performer and composer across Latin America.
