The Seattle stalwart, saxophonist and electronics pioneer known for "saxophonics,” Skerik is a consummate risk-taker and re-inventor of sound. With a staggeringly prolific 40-year career with collaborators including Critters Buggin, Garage a Trois, and Les Claypool's Frog Brigade, Crack Sabbath, Khu.eex’, New York Composers Orchestra, Headhunters, McTuff, and Syncopted Taint Septet. He has recorded on over 200 records and has collaborated with John Medeski, Marc Ribot, Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Jeff Parker, DJ Logic, Ani DiFranco, and Nikki Glaspie, just to name a few.
In 2024 Skerik was the Earshot Jazz Festival Resident Artist. Now, Skerik (tenor and baritone saxophones) joins Mike Stone (drums); Hans Teuber (alto sax, flute); Greg Sinibaldi (baritone sax, tenor sax); Tim Kennedy (keys); Geoff Harper (bass); Jason Cressey (trombone) to bring his longtime devotion of acclaimed bassist, pianist, and composer Charles Mingus.
