About
Viking Disco: Leif Erikson’s Birthday Bash
On October 9th, we’re celebrating the one and only Leif Erikson the only way that makes sense: with a full-blown Viking Disco. Because obviously, if anyone deserves a dance floor, mead vibes, and a mirror ball, it’s him.
Doors + bar open at 5PM, and the music kicks off at 7PM—giving you plenty of time to settle in, grab a drink, and assemble your fiercest attire.
Costumes are highly encouraged—think Norse meets disco, the more dramatic the better.
Come ready to raid the dance floor. Valhalla would absolutely approve. ️
About Leif Erikson
Leif Erikson was a Norse explorer from Iceland, believed to have been born around 970 CE. He is widely credited as one of the first Europeans to set foot in North America—nearly 500 years before Christopher Columbus—where he is said to have established a settlement known as Vinland, likely located in what is now coastal Canada. Son of Erik the Red, Leif is a central figure in the Icelandic sagas and a symbol of exploration, curiosity, and seafaring adventure.
Here in Seattle, his legacy is especially visible: a statue of Leif Erikson stands at Shilshole Bay, reflecting the city’s maritime identity and Scandinavian heritage. Other notable monuments honoring him can be found in places like Boston, Massachusetts, and Reykjavík, Iceland.
